Eligibility

Unless otherwise specified, NPESR programs are intended primarily for middle school, high school, undergraduate, and other emerging student researchers.

Some programs may have additional eligibility requirements, deadlines, or participation rules.

Publication Pathways

Journal Publication

A manuscript designated as Published has successfully completed the editorial review process and has been formally accepted for publication in an NPESR publication.

Publication decisions are made solely by NPESR editors according to our editorial standards.

Research Archive

The NPESR Research Archive serves as a public repository for student research.

Archived works may include:

  • Manuscripts submitted through NPESR
  • Previously published student research
  • Conference papers
  • School research projects
  • Preprints
  • Research completed through other organizations

Archive inclusion does not necessarily indicate formal publication in an NPESR journal.

Archived research is preserved to improve accessibility and discoverability.

Editorial Decisions

NPESR reserves the right to:

  • Accept submissions
  • Reject submissions
  • Request revisions
  • Withdraw publications
  • Correct published material
  • Remove archived content when necessary
  • Investigate ethical concerns

Editorial decisions are final unless otherwise stated.

Research Integrity

Authors are expected to uphold high standards of academic integrity.

Submissions may be rejected or removed if they involve:

NPESR will describe any fiscal sponsorship arrangements accurately and transparently.

Tax-deductible language will only be used when legally applicable under the specific donation pathway being utilized.

Leadership and Advisors
